RAJO + PARISIAN

It's not new how brilliant RAJO LAUREL is. For me, I can call him the modern MIDAS for everything he holds turns precious and worthy! This year, Rajo decided to collaborate with one of the business giants, SM to come up with something unique for their label PARISIAN.

BY INVITATION Only! :)
For avid shoe followers, it is no secret that SM’s iconic shoe brand, Parisian Shoes, has experienced a rebirth for the past few years.  From being just one of SM’s many shoe labels, it is now a leading authority in offering the latest shoe designs but yet staying true its value proposition – that is, offering value for money. As it continues to evolve as a fashion brand, Parisian partners with one of the country’s renowned fashion designer – Mr. Rajo Laurel.  A first in Philippine footwear industry, the collaboration will feature a special designer collection named “Rajo for Parisian”. With a limited 6,000 pairs of shoes, Rajo for Parisian boasts of 14 highly covetable styles. The limited collection will be available in only 7 SM Department Store premier branches- SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, SM Makati, SM North Edsa, SM Cubao, SM Southmall and SM Cebu).  Price  range of only  P 999.75 to P 2,199.75, price points remain true to what Parisian stands for- high fashion made affordable. The RAJO for PARISIAN is truly a magnificent showing of artistry and practicality that will surely entice women with exceptional finds and key pieces to add to their growing collection of Parisian shoes.
Rajo has always been inspired with architecture (as seen on his blog with photos of his travels abroad) and color. I'm so sure all shoe-addict will rave over this line and be gone in a snap. Congratulations to Rajo for making another milestone in his career! :)

I love shoes! Shoes are the cornerstone of fashion. They ground the outfit; you can say they start the whole look. Shoes have a special place in my heart. Working with women all the time, there is always the impulse to create something desirable. This is always entrenched in my frame of mind.I create out of inspiration. I create out of love for fashion.

Creating this collection was like giving birth to a new child.
It was a philosophical process imbued with thought and a lot of research. And it gave me real respect for cobblers! Making shoes is an entirely different approach from making clothes. Everything is different: from the way they should look, the way they should feel—the curves, the stitches, the details. There is science in creating a shoe.

Rajo! for Parisian is a new collection of shoes from the iconic SM brand Parisian, inspired by my love for architecture, sculpture, and pop culture.
I wanted to create a polarized collection—the paradox of juxtaposing pop culture and art. I love architecture and sculpture, and yet I cannot deny how pop culture influences me. Curiosity is always there. That’s how I keep inspiration alive. This is my homage to SM, which started over 50 years ago as a shoe store—I wanted to respect that tradition and honour it. With this first collaboration with SM, I was very excited. Imagination, research, and collaboration: it came together in this special limited edition collection. With 14 new designs (and only 600 pairs per design), it’s all about getting haute couture shoes at great prices.  I believe that every woman deserves the perfect shoe.
I invite all women out there to come and feel the excitement and the pleasure of what I have created for all those who love shoes—as much as I do.    - Rajo Laurel

Ze Return of the Fairy

Hello everyone. ^^, it's been a while since my last fairy post. I sorely missed it. My busy day job schedule has been tripled now that I have a new officer - READ : Not complaining! It was another blessing and a challenge - so game on! ^^,  Anyhoo, enough of my blah excuses... enjoy the photos ^^,
Faking Haider Ackermann. I super love this shawl such as steal at P200 ($4)
Do you remember faux Lanvin Spring-Summer 2008
A little bit of texture > beaded shawl from CMG worn as a peek-a-boo column dress with chain collier as strap
Found this glitzy leopard print chiffon fabric in Divisoria and I immediately bought like 5yards. Didn't know where would I used it but I guess I can let go of such cheap but fabulous find! For only P15/yard... It's a no-brainer! LOL.  SUPER LOOOOVE IT! Here, I wore it with a chain used as a strap and tied a knot to achieve a sexy neckline. Achieve!? Sorry for abusing photoshop yet again... Hahah ^^,
Second version of my leopard print fabric... this time wore it as asymmetrical fluffy dress - ACHIEVE?! ^^, (My favorite I must say)

Safety pins?! YOU KNOW NA!!! :) LOL
Faux Lanvin inspired dress with safety pins
GOOD VIBES! :) One sad news is, I might miss this season's Philippine Fashion Week... I feel weak just thinking about it...

A Trendsetter's Bazaar

MIADORE x PARADIGM SHIFT
Last weekend was filled with nothing but fun and business!!! Together with my friends, Nicole Puentevella of SOULE PHENOMENON, AJ Omandac and Paul Jatayna of OS, Mike Magallanes and Karl Leuterio of Paradigm Shift and JP Singson of Unisex, we joined a bazaar in Rockwell called A Trendsetter's Bazaar. We decided to come up with a curated booth mostly and mainly in B&W, edgy and androgynous pieces. Super excited with it since I just released my newest collection, X, which I think fits their discriminating eye. Super love our three day sale and it was a good feeling making money with friends! LOL! :)

CHIAROSCURO : W by Rajo Laurel

The collection is called CHIAROSCURO, which is an Italian word for playing with darkness and light.   The whole collection is predominantly neutral with a strong emphasis on the grey tone.  I do have some colors but they are muted tones of blue and plum.  I have incorporated my love of gross grain ribbon in the collection and you can see this as a strong design element. There is also a very masculine take on blocking as I cut up the patterns of the jackets, shirts and even pants with these slices that make the clothes so much more interesting.  I also love the faux suspenders on the items giving it a nerdy but cool touch which appeals strongly to my sensibilities.

Rajo Laurel continues to share his idea of what real men should be wearing by presenting yet another interesting collection for Wharton.

I'm loving the use of neon colors to highlight the garment! ^^,

Teaming this time with yet another couple, Enzo Mondejar did the photography and Eric Poliquit on styling. It features simple shirts with fine details, pipings on pockets & sleeves, faux suspenders and a little bit of Mondrian effect with the pattern to give a little bit of oomph to an ordinary shirt.

The first batch will be released in all major SM department stores this October 10.

Such a perfect model for the word "Androgyny" noh?!
My favorite spread!
